What a weird, unlikable show. I guess I'm not as impressed by random paopei blasting action as a young boy would be, but the main character is an idiot, the creature design is creepy, and the "demons" are so outlandish, I say this is just a retelling of the Sealing Myth with bad cosplay outfits. If this were live-action, I'd be laughing hysterically, but since this is anime, I'll just have to cut my losses and dismiss it as just another silly cartoon for kids. Even then, I'm still not sure I can recommend this to them.

wai~~!! suupuushan ga daisuki! houshin engi is one of the best manga that i've run across. a rather large, but fantastic! cast of characters, along with a great adaptation of the Dakki/Fox fable.
